The smallest player in the SONOS range, but its small size belies an impressive sonic performance.
Easy to use is a huge draw, but this is backed up by a fantastic sound quality and an affordable price. With a performance that belies it's compact size. Its diminutive proportions make it ideal for use in bedrooms or kitchens, but don't let its size fool you. Inside are three digital amplifiers, twin woofers, a high tweeter and a bass radiator which together delivery a surprisingly full, detailed and hugely enjoyable sound.
Why we love Play:1
Small in size - big on sound
The Play:1 may be smaller, cheaper, and more 'bookshelf-friendly' than other Sonos speakers, but it still manages to deliver exceptional sound in a stylish package. Like its larger siblings the Play:3 and Play:5, the Play:1 has a look and feel that is stylish and exceptionally well-made wireless speaker. While it may not be portable the Play:1 has a much smaller footprint than other Sonos speakers, and hence ideal for bedrooms or kitchens.
You would expect that a smaller speaker means a drop in sound quality but don't worry, the Play:1 can still deliver impressive performance, with bass levels that are rich whilst still controlling the trebles. The Play:1 also features new Sonos processing technology that aims to minimise distortion at full volume.
At it's price point the Play:1 is the cheapest way to jump into the Sonos wireless music system, or a nice addition to your existing collection of Sonos speakers.
